Optical Silence (2018)

“When was the last time you were speachless?”

This was on of the questions Karina Griffith asked the participants in her „Visual Creole„ writing at the first Souls Sisters Black Arts Retreat in Klasdorf, Brandenburg. Her documentation of the experience exists as a 2-channel video piece without sound; Entitled (2016). In this performance lecture, Griffith interrogated the silence of Entitled and explores what is at stake for intersectional bodies claiming space outside of Germany’s urban centre.
