Why are some plants desired in our gardens, and others, uprooted and discouraged to flourish? How can we expect seeds and people to respect borders if opportunities for growth are disparate on either side? Inspired by the continuing struggle of African refugees in Berlin for the right to work and freedom of movement, Unkraut is a visual representation of the filmmakers experience with European xenophobia.
